Mr. Benjamin Sylvester Cantler, 72, of Damascus , died on Monday December 6, 2010 , at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital , Rockville . He was the husband of Rose E. Cantler.

Born on November 13, 1938 in Whiteford , MD , he was the son of the late Delmer C. and Anna E. Thompson Cantler.
He worked for over 40 years for the Montgomery County Public Schools. He enjoyed most of all his time spent with his family and grandchildren.
Surviving are four children; Peggy Davis and husband Andy of Emmitsburg, Heidi Dillehay and husband Bryan of State College, PA, Lisa Carlisle of Damascus and Thomas Carlisle and wife Norma of Winchester, VA. Six grandchildren; Wyatt Davis, Peyton Davis, Trista Davis, Paul Carlisle, Ryan Carlisle and Ronnie Fishels. Sisters, Marlene Friend, Joanne Smith and Libby Johnson. Brothers; Bucky and Russell Cantler. He was preceded in death by three brothers; Howard, Bill and Joe Cantler. One sister, Barbara Burdette. Mother and father in law, Earl and Elizabeth Burroughs. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 3-5 & 7-9pm on Friday December 10, at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd. Mt. Airy where funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday December 11, at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Parklawn Cemetery, Rockville.
