Belva Lavena Gaver White, age 88, of Hagerstown, and formerly of Boonsboro, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at Homewood Retirement Center in Williamsport.
Born Aug. 28, 1920 in Middletown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Roelkey Lee and Ruth E. Crone Gaver.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Joseph White, on Feb. 6, 1973.
She was a 1938 graduate of Boonsboro High School.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ in Boonsboro.
She is survived by three daughters, M. Consuelo Rinehart of Easton, MD, Frances B. Gladhill of Hagerstown, and Celeste H. White of Fairfax, VA; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Bernard Gaver.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro. Burial will be in the Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. on Friday at the Funeral Home.
