Belva Lee Myers

Belva L. Myers, 77, of Thurmont, passed from this life on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Ballenger Creek. She was the wife of the late James Myers. Born on September 7, 1947, in Liberty Township, PA, she was the daughter of Howard Sanders and Margaret (Peterson) Sanders.

She retired from St. Catherine's Nursing Home, after over 20 years as a nurse. Belva loved gardening, reading, music, British TV and Westerns. She enjoyed playing with her grand and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Patricia (Blaine) Schildt, Carl (Erin) Bittle, Jr., Lucy Helmer and Carrie Bittle; 12 grand-children, Charlene (Jimmy) Parrill, Andrew (Brittany) Parrill, Krista (Steven) Hess, Jacob (Kristen) Myers, Hillary (Shaq) Murphy, Caitlan Chery, Camrin Bittle, Rylee Bittle, Ryan Bittle, Jaylen Spradlin and Cheyanne Spradlin. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, many brothers and sisters and a very close friend, Margaret Grimes.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grand-daughter, Wendy Thompson; a brother, Roy Sanders, and sisters, Ruth Gochenour, Sarah Sanders.

The family would like to thank Frederick Health Hospice for all of the support and care that they provided.

A private burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, alongside her husband, at a later date.
