Mrs. Bebe Bertha King, 83, of Mt. Airy, died peacefully Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late David King who predeceased her on January 5, 2011.
Born April 10, 1930 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Martin and Margaret Curtis Daniels.
Mrs. King was a longtime member of Forest Memorial United Methodist Church in Forestville. She enjoyed arts, crafts, ceramics and sewing. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Donna Darr and husband, David, of Harwood; Frank Davis and wife, Bonnie, of Mechanicsville; James King and wife, Vicki, of Woodbine; Susan King and husband, Regis Canny, of Gaithersburg; and Mary Ann Townson of Mobile, AL; 10 grandchildren, Frank Davis Jr., Joseph Lee King, Scott Davis, Lisa Marie Russell, Michelle Lynn Cohen, Michael Alexander Davis, Christina Diane King, Stephanie Jean King, Daniel Glen King and Chase Ashton Townson; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Joan Snow of Lisbon.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. King was predeceased by two sons, Lee Davis and Lennie King; and a grandson, David Allan Childress.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy. Services will begin at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 5 from the funeral home with the family receiving friends one hour prior to services. Officiating will be the Rev. Ronald Reed.
Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery.
