Beatrice Kane passed away on October 25, 2016, surrounded by family. Born in Bealeton, Virginia on March 14, 1934, the daughter of Irving and Ruby Kane, she lived a long life in the service of our Lord, and will be sorely missed. She is survived by three daughters, Laura Lee Clark, Pamela Ann Sheets, and Ann Marie Wasko, three sons-in-law, Ronald G. Clark, Mike Cochran, and James Wasko, four grandchildren, Gregory Michael Sheets, Daniel Wasko, Abigail Wasko Smith and Zachary Wasko, two step grandchildren, Cortney and Megan Clark, four great-grandchildren, Madison, Sadie, and Jarett Sheets, and Sophia McKinley Smith, two sisters, Hazel Settle and Betty Ann Messick of Fauquier County, Virginia and one brother, Allen Kane of Augusta, Georgia.
Beatrice moved to Frederick, Maryland in 1996, and enjoyed part-time work in retail until her retirement. Beatrice was blessed with a life of international travel with her husband, George A. Shipman’s career with American Airlines. She valued cultural diversity and the arts. While in Frederick, she enjoyed the performing arts, and the vibrant community of downtown Frederick. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and treasured the music offerings.
Services will be held at Stauffer Funeral Homes in Frederick, Maryland on Sunday, October 30th, 2016. The family will receive visitors beginning at 1:00 pm, with services to follow at 2:00. A private interment will be held in Bealeton, Virginia at a later date.
