Barry E. Kehl

Barry Earl Kehl, 62, died peacefully while surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at his home in Boonsboro, Maryland.

Born on September 24, 1947 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, he is the son of Phyllis J. (McKinley) Barbour of Inwood, West Virginia and the late Eugene A. Kehl.  His step-father, Jerry Barbour preceded him in death.

Mr. Kehl was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War.

He worked for 40 years as a self-employed autobody mechanic.  He also was employed with the Frederick County School System for 5 years and had worked the last 2 1/2 years at the Lowe's in Martinsburg, West Virginia.

In addition to his mother, Barry is survived by his wife Linda (Shannon) Kehl; his step-children, Brandon and Shannon Kellerman; two sisters, Naomi Hartle and Darlene Parker; and his brother Gene Kehl.  He is also survived by 6 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 from 6 - 9 p.m. at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland.

An interment cermony will take place at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2009, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 515 North Market Street, Frederick, Maryland.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at The Good Shepherd Ministries, 19763 Longmeadow Road, Hagerstown, Maryland.  The Rev. Steven S McCullough will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland 21742 or to the family c/o Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home.
