Barbaria Ann Lee, 82 of Frederick, Maryland departed this earthly realm for her heavenly home peacefully and quietly on Friday, May 19, 2023, at Westminster Healthcare Center.
Born December 22, 1940, in Frederick, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Clinton F. Bell and Harriett E. Gibson Bell.
Barbaria attended St. Paul AME Church during her earlier years. Around 2009, she joined Hopehill United Methodist Church.
She began her career working at Springfield Psychiatric Hospital and then Montgomery Wards in Frederick, Md until it closed in the receiving department. She later went on to work for the National Laboratory for Cancer Research (NIH).
She leaves behind her three children, Sonya, Dorian and Shannon and his wife, Paula; six grandchildren: Tonieka, Apryl, DeZion, Anthony, Andre, Sharlene; one great-grandchild: Legna; one cousin: Shirley Neal; seven sisters-in-law: Hilda Rodgers, Bernice Briscoe, Shirley Davis, Jane Braswell, Linda Worthington, Viola Brown-Carroll, Betty Lee; and special friends: Debbie Myers, Murray (Poncho) Harris; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Barbaria was preceded in death by one son Lorne Kendall Lee. Barbaria was also preceded in death by a devoted friend, companion and confidant, Alfred Becote.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. The celebration of life service to begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home in Frederick.
