Barbara "Sue" Puryear

Mrs. Barbara S. Puryear (Sue) passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at her home in Jefferson, MD. She was the wife of Carter S. Puryear.
She was born November 19, 1940 in Green Cove, VA and was the daughter of the late Oscar and Isadora Dolinger.
Mrs. Puryear spent 29 years working for the federal government. She retired from the U. S. Postal Service National Headquarters, Washington, DC as an Executive Secretary , DC on November 20, 1992. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers from Frederick Memorial Hospital Hospice and all the family and friends that have been supportive during this time.
Surviving in addition to her husband are: daughter Beverly Martone and her husband Joseph Martone of Millsboro DE; son Buddy Puryear and his fiancé Larissa Miller of Jefferson, MD; son Jason Puryear and his wife Julie Puryear; and six grandchildren, Jessica and Daniel Dassen; Tyler Puryear; Sydney, Hannah and Kylee Puryear; sisters: Virgina Burgstahler of Sherwood, OR; Lucy Lowe of Damascus, VA; Jean Masker of Herndon, VA; Joann Porter and her husband Harold Porter of Gainesville, VA; and by brothers: Bobby Dolinger and his wife Dottie of Fredericksburg, VA; Danny Dolinger of Damascus, VA; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Dorothy Adams of Seattle, WA; Ina Rauch of Huntington, MD; her brothers: Ernest Dolinger of Everett, WA; Carlos Dolinger of Burke, VA and Orvil Dolinger of White Top, VA.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 16, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, with Rev. Jim Dewar of Grace Community Christian Church, Frederick officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick, MD 21701.
