Barbara Devries (Rogers) Savage 78, passed away peacefully at home August 6, 2014 with her family at her side. She was preceded in death by her son Michael John Rogers, husband Parley Deane Savage, parents Harold and Elizabeth Dolson of Groton, VT and sister Phyllis Ware of Lebanon, NH.

She is survived by her daughter Susan Cariola of Frederick, MD and son William Rogers and his wife Jennifer of Frederick, MD. She is also survived by grandchildren, Nickoel Rogers of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Joseph Cariola III, Michael Cariola, Christopher Rogers and his wife Abigail all of Frederick, MD, Caitlyn Toryak and her husband Stephen of Stafford, VA, John Rogers of Frederick, MD and great-grand children Alejandro, Dominik, and Anne Mack.

Barbara was born in Beacon, NY May 12, 1936. After graduating from Beacon HS she married and attended Alfred State University studying nursing. With the birth of her first child Michael she decided to devote her life to raising her family along with breeding both Doberman Pinschers and horses.

After her children had grown she returned to college and graduated from Frederick Community College in 1984 with an AA degree in the Registered Nursing Program. Shortly after graduating she began working at Frederick Memorial Hospital primarily the med surg orthopedic unit until her retirement in 2004. Missing the patient interaction she loved as an RN she worked part time at Mountain Manor in Emmitsburg, MD and later volunteered as an RN at a nursing home in Taneytown, MD.

Private memorial services will be held in Fishkill, NY at a later date.
