Barbara Jean Poole, 81, of Frederick passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 at her home. She was the loving wife of the late John Davis Poole, who died on June 7, 2014.
Born in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Marjorie Frances (Miller) and John West Belt, Sr.
For many years, Barbara and her husband owned and operated the former Cracked Claw Restaurant, where many longtime friendships were formed. She was known and loved by many and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by two daughters, Terri May (Tim), and Angel Nusbaum (Jay); three grandchildren, Brady Nusbaum, Collin Nusbaum (Cindy), and Aaron May; a sister, Margie Ray (Jim); many nieces, nephews and additional family members and friends.
Barbara was predeceased by three brothers, and one sister.
A celebration of Barbara's life will begin at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 27 from the chapel of Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Officiating will be her son-in-law, the Rev. Tim May.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a pet rescue of one's choice.
