Barbara McIntosh

March 27, 1944 — December 25, 2017

Barbara McIntosh, age 73 of Frederick Maryland passed from this life on Monday, December 25, 2017 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
Born on March 27, 1944, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania she was the loving daughter of the late John Yanchek and Julia (Puk) Yanchek.
Barbara was a 1962 graduate of Immaculata High School in NYC.  She began her work career at Lever Brothers in NYC, later working for Marriott in Scottsdale Arizona and then Del Webb in both Arizona and Texas.  Mrs. McIntosh was, at one time, a member of the Survivor Outreach Services (SOS) Army-wide program. Her late-in-life passion was family scrapbooking and her home was filled with books of pictures and quotes. The one I saw that would describe her journey in life is…“Live life so completely that when death comes to you like a thief in the night, there will be nothing left for him to steal”.
She was a proud and devoted mother and is survived by her son, David McIntosh and his wife Caroline of Australia; brother, John Yanchek of New Jersey; and sister-in-law, Peggy McIntosh of Boonsboro, MD. Several nieces and nephews also survive her.
She was also a true friend to all who knew her and will be missed by close friends and extended family members.
The family will receive friends from  10:00- 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike Frederick, MD 21702.
A celebration of Barbara's life journey will  follow at  12:00 p.m.  Rev. Tim May will officiate.   Interment will be at  Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara's name to The Saint Judes Children’s Research Hospital.
