Barbara Ann Holder, age 72, of Boonsboro, MD died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Saturday November 13, 2021, at Meritus Medical Center after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Her final days were filled with the same strength, peace, and grace she shared with all who knew her. She asked to see smiles instead of tears.
Born September 28, 1949. She was the daughter of the late Max Cummins and Cora Kendal of Snyder’s Landing in Sharpsburg, MD.
Barbara was a graduate of Boonsboro High School. She traveled frequently and was inspired by warm weather, walks on the beach, beautiful sunrises, and sunsets but the center of her universe was at home in Boonsboro where she gave selflessly of her time to family, friends and Trinity Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Marion “Max” Cummins.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, John Holder; son Jeremy Holder and wife Stephanie Holder and daughter Melissa Holder. Brother Gregory Cummins and wife Ruth Cummins; Nancy Cummins, wife of Max Cummins. Grandchildren Zachary, Brianna, and Emma and also many special nieces and nephews.
At Barbara’s request family and friends will be invited to celebrate Barbara’s life with a service to be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 64 S. Main St., Boonsboro, MD 21713, Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 4-6PM. Memorial Donations may be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church at 64 S. Main Street Boonsboro, MD 21713.
