Barbara Harrison

Mrs. Barbara C. Harrison, 84, of Mt. Airy, MD died suddenly on May 8 ,2016 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert E. Harrison.

Born October 3, 1931 in Frederick, MD she was the daughter of the late James M. and Ruth Rebecca Hess Clark.

Barbara started her career as an insurance agent after graduating from Mt. Airy High School in 1948. She work for 46 years as an insurance agent for the Burdette Agency, which was bought out by Frederick Underwriters. After a brief retirement she began working for John Anderson State Farm Insurance in Damascus and finished her career with Brennan Breidenstein State Farm Insurance. She was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church her entire life. Barbara was a member of the Mt. Airy Players. She also enjoyed meeting people at work and taking care of her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Roxanne Hemphill, husband Michael; grandchildren Heather Fuss, husband, Charles and Zachary Hemphill. She is also survived by her great granddaughter, Abagail Fuss. She is also survived by nieces Barbara Sue Parker, husband Greg; Jenny Jett, husband Andy; Judy Stewert, husband Andy and nephew Daniel Messer, wife Kendra.

She is preceded in death by her sister Daisy Messer and her husband Charles.

Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday May 18th at 2:00 p m at Calvary Lutheran Church 16151 Old Frederick Rd. Mt. Airy, Maryland 21771.

Interment will be private.
