Barbara Ann Galloway

Barbara Ann Galloway, 84, of Frederick, Maryland, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 30, 2023.

Born on July 23, 1938, in Youngstown, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Richard Henry Dey and Wilma Louise (Reed) Dey.

She graduated from East Palestine High School in 1956 and studied nursing at Johns Hopkins where she met her future husband, Vernon Galloway. Although she never completed a degree, she took classes at several other institutions. Her favorite classes were in the sciences.

Barbara was a member of Piney Creek Presbyterian Church. A lifelong lover of animals, Barbara particularly loved her cats and her German Shepherds. She enjoyed raising her children and especially playing with her grandchildren in her later years.

She is survived by her loving husband John Vernon Galloway Sr., son John Galloway Jr., daughter Deborah Tuel, son-in-law Stephen Tuel, grandchildren Jessica Tuel and Bethany Tuel, and grandson-in-law Keir Hudson.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Caroline Badger.

A memorial service for Barbara will take place at Faith Reformed Presbyterian Church, 8158 Yellow Springs Road,  Frederick, MD 21702  at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2023.  A private interment will take place beforehand.
