Barbara Ann Curtis

On January 31, 2025, Barbara Ann (Green) Curtis — “Bobby” to all who knew and loved her — left us peacefully. Born in Baltimore on 7/28/38 to Harry E. and May Taymans Green, she is survived by Frank, her loving husband of 65 years, and her three children, Christine Howard (Leonard), Adam Curtis (Bonnie) and Michael Curtis (Maureen). She leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, her sisters, Patricia Green Goforth and Delia Green, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by sisters, Joan Green and Joyce Green. 

Bobby was a 1956 graduate of Notre Dame of Maryland High School and received her Bachelors degree, cum laude, from Johns Hopkins University. She met Frank, the love of her life, during her years at University of Maryland, and they tied the knot in September 1959. Together they travelled life’s highway for 65 years. 

In addition to managing the busy Curtis household, Bobby worked for the Maryland Board of Examiners for many years. She also worked at Middletown Middle School, accompanying students with disabilities. She and Frank were both members of the Middletown, MD Lions Club, selflessly volunteering their time and services in a wide variety of roles. 

Known for her boundless energy, kindness and love for life, she cherished time with her family, creating countless memories filled with laughter and joy. Her legacy of love and generosity will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her. We will forever remember the beautiful smile of this loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, sister and aunt.

Family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025 at Stauffer Funeral Home 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Friday, Feb. 14, 2025 at Holy Family Catholic Church 7321 Burkittsville Rd., Middletown, MD.
