Barbara Burke

Mrs. Barbara Lee Burke, 69, of Hagerstown formerly of Germantown, Maryland, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Meritus Medical Center.
Born October 24, 1945, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Lillie Vance and the late John Vance.
Barbara worked at Shady Grove Hospital in the administration area until she changed jobs and went to work for the Jewish Foundation in Rockville. She retired from there due to health issues. She loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons Douglas C. Burke and wife Karen of Frederick and Dennis A. Burke and wife Shelly of Smithsburg, grandchildren Andrew L. Burke and Chelsea N. Burke both of Middletown and Ryan of Frederick and Chad and wife Melissa of Virginia. Also surviving are many relatives from Oklahoma and many friends she made over the years. She will also be missed by her canine friend, Kandi Mae who will miss her mommy very much.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Monday, August 3, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where services will be held Tuesday, August 4, at 11:00 am with Pastors Rebecca and John Shillingburg officiating.
