Barbara Adams Angleberger, of Frederick, known to her friends as Bobby or Barb, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023 at the age of 86.
She was born May 23, 1937, in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late William Ross Adams, Jr. and Irene Wolfe Adams. She was married to Thomas H. Angleberger on September 9, 1962.
Barbara was a graduate of Middletown High School Class of 1955. Upon graduation, she worked at the Western Maryland Trust Company as an assistant trust officer and in the loan department at the downtown Patrick and Market Street bank location. In 1961, Tommy started working at the same bank. About a year later, Barbara and Tommy were married and began their life-long journey together that lasted almost 61 years. In 1969, Barbara started working at Frederick Community College as a secretary in the Nursing and Science Division before retiring in 1997 after 28 years of service. She cared deeply about the nursing students and was efficient in helping them in any way she could. Until recently, she was able to recall most of their names and enjoyed seeing them around Frederick. Barbara was also a member of Bethel Lutheran Church.
In addition to her loving husband, Barbara is survived by her daughter, Kelley Hood (Brian); and son, Randy Angleberger. She is survived by three grandchildren, Jesse Hood (Jamie), Cody Hood (Jessica) and Megan Angleberger. Barbara is survived by four great-grandchildren, Jordyn Hood, Jeremy Hood, Kiley Hood and Zoey Hood; and also her sister, Deborah Crouse (Gary); sister-in-law, Barbara Adams; and brother-in-law, Edward Eaves.
She was preceded in death by her brother, William Ross Adams, Jr.; and her sister, Frances Eaves.
Barbara adored her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved spending time outside, working in her yard, vegetable and flower gardens. Her other hobbies included baking, putting 1,000 piece puzzles together, reading, playing cards, and making milkshakes for her grandchildren.
A celebration of Barbara's life journey will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Frederick Health Hospice.
