Mr. Austin A. Barton, 91, of Walkersville, died on Thursday, November 20th, 2008 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Pauline ( Smith ) Barton.

Mr. Barton was a life long member of Grace Rocky Hill Lutheran Church, Woodsboro, where he was treasurer for the cemetery board for 49 � years, served several terms on the church council and volunteered in numerous church functions in many capacities.

Austin's life career was a dairy farmer in the Frederick County area. He was a county school bus driver for 13 years. Mr. Barton was a founding board member of Southern States Cooperative, Woodsboro. For relaxation he enjoyed; traveling, fishing, crabbing, hunting and gardening.

Surviving are 3 nieces; Nancy Fogle and husband John, Patsy Shank and husband Wayne, Helga Beard, 2 nephews; Kenneth Barton, Henry Barton and wife Beverly, great-nephew, Mike Beard and his fiance Pam, his friend and care-giver Susan Thompson. He is also survived by his helpful numerous great-nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Russell M. Barton, John W. Barton, a sister, Lulu Beard, sister-in-law Alice Genevieve Smith, nephews; Thomas Barton and Bill Beard, a niece Kimberly Barton.

Visitation: Family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville, on Sunday, November 23rd, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Services: Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Rocky Hill Lutheran Church, 10825 Coppermine Rd., Woodsboro. Visitation at the church one hour prior to services.
Chaplain Dahl. Drenning will officiate. Interment in the church cemetery.
