Austin Elmer Gladhill Jr., 66,of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 18, 2016.
Born on May 18, 1950, he was the son of Austin Elmer Gladhill, Sr. and Mildred Frances (Smith) Gladhill.
He attended Boonsboro High School.
He retired from the Washington County Board of Education.
Austin enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Those, along with his children and wife, were his world.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Betty Lou (Feathers) Gladhill; children, Austin Elmer Gladhill, III, Kevin Lynn Gladhill, Melissa Frances Galla, and Kimberly Renee Kidd; grandchildren, Zachary, Kailey, Keaton, Levi, Grant, Addison, Esther, and Everett; one great-grandson; brother, Ray Elwood Gladhill; and sister, Ruth Irene Moss.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 22, 2016, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland. The Rev. Bobby Roadcap will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery at San Mar in Boonsboro.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the funeral home.
