Audrey Sier

Audrey Regina (Kaetzel) Sier ,90, of Gapland, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Williamsport Retirement Village in Williamsport, Maryland.

Born on November 9, 1925, she was the daughter of George Floyd Kaetzel and Katharine Elizabeth (Shewbridge) Kaetzel.

She was a 1945 graduate of Boonsboro High School. Audrey also graduated from Hagerstown Business College.

She was employed as Secretary with Fairchild for many years.

Audrey was a lifetime member of Garretts Mill Assembly of God Church, serving as organist and treasurer, and enjoyed directing many Christmas pageants. She, along with her husband and children, sang at many local churches and in community choruses.

She was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Maryland Terrapins Basketball fan.

Audrey enjoyed the outdoors, flower gardening and bird watching.

What brought her most joy was spending quality time with her family, cooking Sunday dinners and sharing in holiday celebrations.

She is survived by her children, Gay Stump, Monica Marker, and Byron Sier; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Keith Kaetzel and sister, Irene Marler.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Joseph Wilson Sier.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, July 25, 2016, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland. The Rev. Steven McCullough will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at Brownsville Heights Cemetery in Knoxville, Maryland.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the funeral home.
