Mr. Arthur "Art" Caesar Volpe, 87, of Frederick, MD passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.  He was married to Mildred Angstodty, she passed away in 2007.

Born February 14, 1925 in New York, NY he was the son of the late Arthur C. and Anna Rottella Volpe and a brother to Lolly Schaller.  He also leaves three nephews and one niece.

Art has lived in Frederick, MD since 1954.  He worked for the government at Fort Deitrick and Washington, D.C.  He was a member of the Colombia Masonic Lodge #58 in Frederick, and served as Worshipful Master in 1968.  Art was also involved in the collateral body's York Rite, a member of the Enoch Royal Arch Chapter of Enoch Council #10 and also a member of the Knight's Templer where he was a life member of the Eye Foundation and he was a member of the Jacques DeMolay commandry #4.  Art joined the Baltimore Scottish Rite, April 1964, and also affiliated with the Cumberland Scottish Rite in 2001.   He received his knight commander court of honor in October of 1973, became a 33rd degree inspector honorary in November 1981.  Art was also a member of the Alighan Shrine Temple in Cumberland since November 1983 and a permanent sponsor for the Shriner's Hospital for children.  Locally he was very active with the Shriner Keystone Kops and a charter member of the Frontier Shrine Club in Frederick and in 1999 he was awarded an honorary Legion of honor for the Support of the Frederick Chapter of DeMolay and the Masonic Fraternity.  Art will be greatly missed by his family and friends and even if he knew your name he called everyone "fella."

A memorial service will be held at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, 35 E. Church St., Frederick on Monday, October 1, 2012 at 11 AM.

Inurnmentt will follow at the Evangelical Lutheran Church Columbarium.
