Arthur Frank Leyton, of Mount Airy, MD passed on December 7, 2013. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on December 9, 1951 to Henry Frank and Mary Clara Eloise Leyton. He is survived by his wife, Jean, and their two daughters, Claire and Katie. He has 31 sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews in Maryland and Florida, two sisters in Texas and one in California, and a very large family of uncles and cousins in Texas, California and Maryland.
In the 1970s, he completed the Navy Seal training but took ill and was unable to complete the final tests. He then worked as a corpsman and on the flight deck of the U.S.S. Tarawa which took him all over the world. Following 13 years in the Navy and two tours in Vietnam, he started working in the newly emerging field of personal computers and technology at Charles Schwab in San Francisco. Art met Jean in San Francisco in 1983 and they resided there until 2005 when his job moved the family to Maryland. Over the years he taught, programmed, and managed large IT systems. His last employer was AT&T.
A celebration of Art’s life will take place Saturday, December 14, 2013. The family will be receiving guests from 11:00 to 1:00 and a celebration of his life from 1:00 to 2:00. The family is requesting that guests wear festive holiday attire in honor of Art’s favorite time of year.
