Mrs. Arlene A. Giannini, 84 of Thurmont, Maryland died Sunday Oct 13 at York Hospital, York PA.  She was the wife of the late Donald E. Giannini.
Born Oct. 31, 1928 in Fall River, Mass she was the daughter of the late Albert Routhier and Elsie Donald Routhier.  She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Thurmont where she served on the Altar Guild for many years. She was active with the Thurmont Little League and Softball League where she served as Vice President; she also served for many years as treasurer for the street light fund in Graceham Md.
Arlene is survived by five children, Cynthia A. Marshall, Arlene A. Pittinger and husband Larry of Emmitsburg, MD, Sandra M. Seidel and husband Bob of Gettysburg, PA, Linda J. Giannini and fiancé John Kerley of Thurmont, Md and Peter A. Giannini and wife Joyce of Hanover, PA.  Ten grandchildren, David & Jamie Giannini, Stephen Seidel, Daniel & Jennifer Marshall, Ryan & Michael Pittinger, Donald, Annette & Emily Giannini and three great grandchildren, Kyle Reed, Leah Putman & Dominic Giannini, two cousins Karen & Ken Santos and Maureen & Don Pratt of Massachusetts.  Sister in Law Irene Lafleur & husband Roger, brother in law Vincent Schieri and wife Jane all of Fall River, Mass. sister in law Mary Jane McGrath and husband Jim of Las Vegas, Nevada and sister in law Mary Giannini of Tiverton RI, along with many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by two sons, David Americo and Edward John Giannini, one grandson 1Lt. Robert A. Seidel, III, and a son in law Frank Marshall.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 East Main Street, Thurmont on Friday, October 18th from 5:00-9:00pm with a prayer service at 8:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 19th at 11:00am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Thurmont.
Interment will be at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the 1Lt Robert A. Seidel Wounded Soldiers Fund at the Community Foundation of Frederick County, 312 E. Church Street, Frederick MD 21701.
