Arlene Eugenia Dockett-Mason was born on January 29, 1942 in Buffalo, New York. The oldest daughter of Elgie Lee Dockett (deceased) and Eugenia Ann Dockett.
She departed this life on Sunday, October 28, 2012 in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Arlene attended school and church in Lackawanna, New York and was employed at the Community Action Organization (CAO) and Community Health Clinic in Lackawanna. In 1977, she relocated to San Diego, California where she worked as a psychiatric aide, employment specialist, and travel specialist. She retired from the work force in 2002 and later relocated to Hagerstown, Maryland in 2010.
Arlene was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching a diversity of sports. She especially enjoyed baseball and boxing, Her kind heartedness and vibrant personality resulted in her acquiring a host of friends wherever she resided. She was always willing to lend a helping hand.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Eugenia A. Dockett of Buffalo, New York; three children, Terrance L. Dockett (Frieda) of San Bernardino, California, Nadine C. Williams of Buffalo, Edmund S. Crawford of San Diego, California; one grand-daughter Nalani L. Williams of Brooklyn, New York; one nephew, Derek L. Jacobs of San Diego; one grand-niece, Rhiannon N. Jacobs-Connelly of San Diego; four sisters, Janice L. Polk (Willie) of Buffalo, Marcella K. Harris (Charles) of Boonsboro, Maryland, Jacqueline Dockett of Atlanta, Georgia, Holly E. Dockett of Buffalo, New York and a host of relatives and friends.
A Homegoing Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland 21713. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home on Saturday, November 24, 2012.
