Arlene Fay Detrow, 79, of Frederick, Maryland, died on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at her home.
Born on November 11, 1931, in Smoketown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Webster Franklin and Stella Kathleen (Haupt) Detrow.
Arlene was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Frederick and attended Mt. Lena United Methodist Church near Hagerstown when she was a child.
She is survived by her three sisters, Janice L. and her late husband Woodrow Penwell of Boonsboro, Maryland, Belva J. and her husband John Bartles of Maugansville, Maryland, and Elouise M. and her husband Eugene Harp of Smithsburg, Maryland; and one brother, George L. Detrow and his wife Ruth of South Bend, Indiana. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Arlene was preceded in death by two nieces, Glenda Penwell Lowans and Deborah Detrow Jamison; and two great-nephews, Jude Charles Lowans and Joshua Benjamin Beard.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 with a funeral ceremony to be held at 11 a.m. at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. Rev. Jerry L. Lowans will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Lena United Methodist Church Cemetery.
