Annie Sarah Lawson, age 87, of 21101 Keadle Road, Boonsboro, MD, died Saturday, July 7, 2007, at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro.
Born June 17, 1920 in Quinque, VA, She was a daughter of the late William Mahone and Betty Davis Lawson.
Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Walter A. Lawson, on June 13, 2007.
She was a homemaker.
Annie was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. She received the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and WAAC Service Ribbon.
She was a member of the ECKANKAR Religion of the Light and Sound of God.
Annie is survived by three sons, Bruce A. Lawson and wife Deborah, and Duane S. Lawson and wife Susan, all of Hagerstown, and Paul D. Lawson and wife Rebecca of Boonsboro; granddaughters Charlotte Davis and husband Craig of Middletown, MD, and Amy Lawson of Baltimore; great-grandsons Erik and Andrew Davis of Middletown; one sister, Doris Hoffman of Gordonsville, VA; and one brother, Hugh Lawson of Greensboro, NC.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Cleo Hughs and Bernice Crismond, and two brothers, Albert Lawson and Mike Lawson.
A memorial service will be held 9:30 A.M. Tuesday, July 17, at Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church in Boonsboro. The Rev. Robert G. Brennan Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in the Boonsboro Cemetery. An ECKANKAR service will then be celebrated at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday at Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro. ECK Cleric Bob Allan will officiate.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
