Annette Joyce Grooms

Annette Joyce Grooms, a beloved mother and wife, born on December 3, 1956, in Baltimore, Maryland, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025, in her husband's arms, at the age of 68.

Annette's personality was a harmonious blend of being down-to-earth, she spoke her mind. She was approachable, friendly and resilient. She demonstrated tough love; however, she would give you the shirt off her back. She was known by her family as "ANTs".

Annette loved to shop, travel, and dress, but most importantly, she loved her family.

Annette's academic journey continued after Gaithersburg High School, she received her Bachelor of Science degree from Strayer University, in Information Technology.

Annette was employed by the Federal Government for forty years; she worked at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as an IT Specialist, until her retirement in 2022.

Annette is predeceased by her father, Theodore Stansbury, and mother, Betty M. Stansbury.

She is survived by her loving husband of forty-two years, Gamal Grooms, and her three sons; Rodney Stansbury, Lee Winfield, Sequan Winfield, and daughter Kimberly Winfield; four brothers; Theodore R. Stansbury (Jackie), Eric Stansbury (GeorgeAnn). Keith Stansbury (Pamela), Mark Stansbury, and sister Cherylynn Peters (Chris), and a host of relatives, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 12 noon until 1:00pm, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702.
