Annette Brown

Mrs. Annette Louise Brown , age 61, of Frederick , MD. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 7 , 2010 at home after a long illness.

Born January 6, 1949 in Frederick , MD., she was the daughter of the late ' Augustus Palm and Bernice King. She was a memeber of Quinn Chapel AME Church in Frederick, MD. Mrs . Brown was a member of the first senior graduating class from Thomas Johnson High School in 1967 and later attended Frederick Community College.

While attending High School , Annette was employed as a sales clerk with the JC Penney Department Store Company in Frederick. After graduating High School , she became a full time employee with the Fire Casualt y Department of State Farm Insurance's Regional Office located in Frederick. Annette continued part-time employment with JC Penney while still working full-time with State Farm for a short time. In October of 2006 and after 35 years of service with State Farm Insurance, Annette, along with her husband James " Jim" Brown, retired.

Mrs. Brown was a real "people person" known to be able to strike up a conversation with anyone she met. She enjoyed working with children and helping to coach girl's cheer-leading in the Frederick Youth Association for several years. Annette loved spending quality time with family and friends and was loved by those who came to know her.

Mrs. Brown is survi v ed by her husband of 34 years , James V . G. Brown of Frederick ; two loving sons , James (Jay) V . G. Brown II , of Frederick and Christopher (Chris) , wife Veronica and daughter Marle y of Barksdale Air Force Base , Shreveport , La. Mother Bernice Sewell and Stepfather Walter Sewell of Middletown , Md. ; siblings , Phillip King of Silver Spring MD ., twin brother Anthony (Tony) King of Hagerstown, Md., Marsha Lyles of Washington D.C. , Sharon , husband Joe Holland and daughter Jennifer Pratt of Silver Spring, Md. , Rodney and Elly King of Walkersville , Md. , Donald King of Frederick , Walter Sewell Jr. of Point of Rocks , Md. , Andre Sewell of Cumberland, Md. , Lamell Sewell of Washington D . C. And Chantre Sewell of Frederick , Md . Mrs. Brown will last in fond memories of her numerous nieces , nephews and friends made through the years. Special memories will be treasured by family in-laws , especially her mother in-law, Mrs. Fern Brown who cherished and loved her as a daughter . She will also be deeply missed by her loving Mt. Moriah church family and special friends Ms . Linda Grove, Mrs . Mary Campbell and Mrs. Frieda March. Mrs. Brown is preceded in death by her father, Mr. Augustus Palm, father in-law George F. Brown; several uncle , aunts, and a very close friend and sister in-law , Mrs. Anna Brown.

The family will receive friends and her extended family at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, on Monday , July 12t h from 2-4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held at the Maranatha Communit y Church, 123 Byte Drive, Frederick at 11 AM on Tuesda y, July 13 , 2010 with Pastor Gordon Fox of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church officiating. .

Interment will be in the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery
