Mrs. Anne B. Monroe, 92, of Frederick, MD passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at her daughter's home in Maryland, where she lived for the last 3 years.  She was the devoted wife of the late Karl Monroe who predeceased her on January 31, 2000.

Born June 28, 1920 in Erie, PA she was the daughter of the late Michael Chrzanowski and Mary Urbaniak.

Mrs. Monroe was a resident of Erie for 89 years. She belonged to St. Stanislaw's, St. Patrick's and St. Peter's Church for the Deaf.  While in MD she attended First Baptist Church of Frederick.  Anne enjoyed her family, baking, jigsaw puzzles, 4 handed canasta, kittens, going to bingo, bingo scratch offs and watching baseball.

She is survived by her son, John Monroe; daughters Peggy Hornemann and Mary Alice Czartoryski and her husband William; grandson Douglas Hornemann and his wife Leslie; granddaughter Tracy Ann Entwistle and her husband Cragg and grandson Sean Dorsey; 8 great-grandchildren April and fiance Shane Duncan, Abigail, Mike and Max Hornemann, Anders and Rebecca Entwistle, Lena and Mia Dorsey; special friend Louise Perkins and close friends Sandi and Adrian Wastler; sisters-in-law Irene Chrzanowski and Helen Taylor; numerous nieces and nephews and her language interpreter Gussie Belisario.

She was preceded in death by her grandson Michael Czartoryski; 3 brothers Vincent Checker, Anthony and John Chrzanowski; 5 sisters Rose Stanczak, Mary Babulak, Angelina Thompson, Theresa Chrzanowski and Felician Sister Mary Laetantia (Helena) Chrzanowski.

The family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Saturday, August 25, 2012 from 9-11 AM where a funeral service will begin at 11 AM.  Pastor Larry Eubanks will officiate.

Interment will be Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 11:30AM at Calvery Cemetery, 3325 W. Lake Rd., Erie, PA.  She will be buried next to her lifetime partner and husband Karl.
