Anna May Smith

Mrs. Anna May Smith, 80, of Mt. Airy died on Friday June 19, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Mt. Airy. She was the wife of Dick Smith.

Born on November 11, 1928 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late James Arthur and Rose Koenig Osborn.

Anna May was known to many by her beautiful smile, she was active with cub scouts and was known as the dean of den mothers. She was an avid nature lover and bird watcher. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Calvary U. M. Church, Mt. Airy for 32 years and was then a member of Church of the Open Door, Westminister for 21 years. She was a member of the Mt. Airy senior center.

Surviving in addition to her husband are five children James A. Smith and wife Florence, David A. Smith, Douglas E. Smith, Kenneth H. Smith and wife Denise and Daniel W. Smith and wife Tammy. Eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her sister Ruth Elizabeth Remmell.


Visitation: Friends may call on Tuesday June 23, from 3-5 & 7-9pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd. Mt. Airy.

Services: Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday June 24, in the Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Rick Holbrook will officiate. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
