Mrs. Anna Mae Covell, 80 of Walkersville, MD passed away Thursday, June 4, 2009 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital.

She was the wife of Alvie N. Covell. They where married for 54 years.

Born February 25, 1929 in Walkersville, she was the daughter of the late Harry T. and Eleanor Z. Filler.

Anna Mae was a member of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Walkersville. She was a Sunday School teacher and she participated in numerous church committees.

She was a 1946 graduate of Walkersville High School.

She retired as a bookkeeper from Ceresville New Holland in 1991. She enjoyed baking and cooking especially for the Walkersville Carnival. She also loved to travel all over the US and Canada.
Anna Mae was a big supporter and loved attending the Hood and the Mount St. Mary's sporting events. The family wishes to express their gratitude to them for all of the kindness and support.

In addition to her husband Alvie, she is survived by a son, Charles E. Covell of Walkersville, a brother, Melvin E. Filler and wife Esther of Walkersville, a sister-in-law, Bertha Nicholson and her daughter Ruth Nicholson both of Frederick.

She is preceded in death by a brother, Harry Elwood Filler.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville on Sunday June 7th from 6:00 until 8:00.

Services: A memorial service to celebrate Anna's life will be held at the funeral home on Monday June 8th at 10:30 with Rev. Mark L. Foucart officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 10:30 prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Saint Mary's Athletic Department; Hood College Athletic Facility Campaign, Saint Paul's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, or to a charity of ones choice.
