Anna Catherine Stup

Mrs. Anna Catherine Stup, 85 of Walkersville, died suddenly on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 in the Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late C. Edgar Stup.

Born in Jefferson, MD on May 24, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Sigler) and William Cochran Lakin. Anna, along with her husband, operated a dairy farm for most of their lives. She then for a number of years was an employee of the Glade Animal Hospital.

Anna had great love for her family and was a homemaker that had the best of gardens which she loved to share with family and friends. She was a devoted member and supporter of Glade United Church of Christ. She had membership also with the Walkersville Senior Center and the Glade Valley Grange.

Survivors include her loving children; Patsy L. Wiles and husband Charles Thomas of Thurmont, C. William Stup and friend Sharon Orwig of Walkersville, Judith A. Kummell and husband John of Catonsville, and Terri L. Grimm and husband John O., Jr. of Frederick; five grandchildren, Joseph, Stephanie, Kacie, Morgan, and Lexie; her twin sister Catherine Anna Conaway and sister Mary Margaret Clark; a sister-in-law, Ruth D. Lakin; and many special nieces and nephews. Anna will also be missed by her many close and dear friends she made throughout her life.

She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Alan Wiles, a sister Edna C. Michael, and brothers Charles W., William Henry, and Richard S. Lakin.

Visitation: The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 PM at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Avenue, Walkersville, MD.

Services: Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 10th, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Glade United Church of Christ, 21 Fulton Avenue, Walkersville, MD with Rev. Terry Foor and Rev. Dr. Gerald Hanberry officiating. Interment will be private
