Mrs. Annabell Edith Houck, 85, of Rocky Ridge, died Friday, April 26, 2013, at her home. She was the wife of the late Carrollton “Toot” Houck.
She was born June 9, 1927 in Rocky Ridge, the daughter of the late Roy and Nettie Stambaugh Dinterman.
Mrs. Houck was a member of the Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ in Rocky Ridge. In earlier years she was employed at the Cambridge Rubber Factory. Annabell was an avid card player and enjoyed her bi-weekly games with her nieces (especially when she won). She enjoyed cooking, baking, and helping at Rocky Ridge Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxilary.
She is survived by one daughter, Marianne Spevak and husband Pat of Thurmont, a very special niece and nephew, Gloria and Kenneth Frushour and family Ken Frushour Jr., Kristie Frushour, and Kathy Droneburg, nieces Vivian Martin and husband Jerry, Nancy Grimes and husband Fred, Belva Dintermen, Bea Camerdese, Bonnie Reid and husband Bob, Joan Wilhide and husband Wayne, Diana Keyser and husband Brian, nephews Richard Dinterman and wife Josephine and William Dinterman and wife Regina and several cousins. She will also be remembered by many friends, especially a close friend Betty Lee Mumma. Annabell is the last of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by three brothers LeRoy Dintermen, Rocky Ridge, Ralph Dinterman, Taneytown and Donald Dinterman, Thurmont.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont, MD on Tuesday April 30, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where services will be held Wednesday, May 1, at 10:00 am with Pastor Rob Taylor and Pastor Dan Ricketts officiating.
Interment will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery.
