Mrs. Anna Elizabeth Riley, 83, of Brunswick, MD was called home to the Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 21, 2013 with her loving family by her side. She fought a hard five year battle with Parkinson's Disease. She was the beloved wife of Fred Riley for nearly 64 years. Anna devoted her whole life to her family. Always putting them first, especially, her grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Born on May 12, 1930 in Weavorton, MD she was the daughter of the late William and Bertha Phillips Harrison.
Mrs. Riley was a graduate of Brunswick High School and a lifelong member of Brownsville Church of the Brethren where she taught Sunday School for many years. Anna enjoyed working in her yard, especially with her flowers. Her favorite time of year was Christmas with all the decorating and baking she loved to do. Anna worked as a cashier for the B & O YMCA, Brunswick for many years.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, son, Thomas Riley, Sr. and wife Dare of Knoxville and daughter, Cathy Strite and husband Mike of Jefferson; grandchildren Joshua Strite and wife Tricia, Valerie Riley and companion Wes Shafer, Thomas Riley, Jr. and wife Molly and Travis Riley and great-grandchild Alexander Strite.
The family will receive friends at the Brownsville Church of the Brethren, 1911 Rohrersville Rd., Knoxville, on Thursday, December 26, 2012 from 11AM-12PM where a funeral service will begin at 12PM. Rev. Tim May will officiate.
Interment will follow in Brownsville Cemetery.
