Mrs. Anna Ruth Firor Putman
Annie Putman entered into eternal peace on January 17, 2013. Born on October 25,
1917, she was the daughter of the late Zacharius Oursinus and Bessie Violet Isanogle
Firor. She was the wife of the late Charles W. Putman.
She is survived by 2 stepdaughters: Marilee Putman McKissick and husband
Edward, Thurmont and Barbara Putman Poole and husband Leroy, New Market.
She had seven grandchildren, Kenneth Favorite and wife Denise; Thurmont, Susan
Favorite, Thurmont; Kimberly Maynard and husband John, Frederick, Pete Rinehart
and wife Stacey, Boonsboro; Douglas Favorite, Thurmont; Eric Poole, Frederick and
Alan Poole and wife Len, Gaithersburg. She is also survived by five great-
grandchildren. Additionally surviving are nieces and nephews: Betsy Bryant,
Thurmont; Jane Jones, Washington DC; H. Michael Firor and wife Pat, Westminster;
Roger Firor and wife Judy of Landensburg PA; and David Firor and wife Kathy,
Thurmont and numerous great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was pre-deceased by three brothers:
Harold, Robert and George Firor; one sister: Matilda Myers and one nephew: Robert
Firor.
Mrs Putman is also remembered by her faithful companions: Mary Rice and Ellen
Dietz.
She graduated from Thurmont High School with the Class of 1935. She finished her
work life as the Head Bookkeeper at Fredericktown Bank. She enjoyed her
retirement through travel, cooking and canning, spending time with other
Fredericktown Bank retirees and watching baseball - the Orioles and the Nationals.
She was devoted to her church, Trinity United Church of Christ in Thurmont.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont, MD.,
Wednesday, January 23, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday,
January 24, at Trinity United Church of Christ, Main Street, Thurmont with Rev. Sean DeLawder officiating.
Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are asked to be directed to the "Make a
Difference in Thurmont" Fund at the Community Foundation of Frederick County;
