Anna May

Mrs. Anna Plumer May, 95, formerly of Thurmont, MD, passed away, Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Glade Valley Nursing Home in Walkersville, MD.  Anna was born March 10, 1923 in Baltimore, MD.  She was the daughter of two Russian immigrants.  She worked at the sewing factory in both Woodsboro and Walkersville for many years.  Anna was a member of Pioneer Baptist Church in Thurmont.  Anna was very outgoing and loved life.

Anna was preceded in death by two husbands, George E. Plumer, Sr, who passed away November 7, 1982 and Joseph May, who passed away April 25, 2004.  Anna had many hobbies including crocheting, puzzles, walking, dancing and singing.  She was a member of the Red Hat Society and sang with the Thurmont Senior Center Canaries choir.

Anna is survived by five children, Mary E. Wivell and husband, Vincent; Reda L. Smith and husband, Gary; George E. Plumer, Jr and wife, Linda; Louis J. Plumer and wife, Terri and Edward F. Plumer and wife, Marlene; fourteen grandchildren: Wayne A. Wivell; Scott A. Wivell; Sherrie Wildasin; Stacey Smith; Kevin Plumer; Jason Plumer; Mark Plumer; Louis Plumer, Jr; Jennifer Plumer Maravelis; Bradley Plumer; Heidi Plumer; Dawn Payne; Christina Burton and Thomas Plumer. She is also survived by 28 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Stauffer Funeral Home, Thurmont, MD.  Visitation at 10 am on Saturday, January 5, 2019 with funeral service to follow at 11 am at Stauffer Funeral Home.

Burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Garden in Frederick, MD.
