Mrs. Anna Slacum Nace, 65, of Frederick, MD., died suddenly, Monday, October 11, 2010. She was the wife of Robert C. Nace, for 44 years.
Born May 25, 1945, in Bethesda, MD, she was the daughter of the late Martha Bailey and Emerson P. Slacum.
Anna graduated from Damascus High School in 1963 and attended the College of William and Mary.
She was an active member of the community and served in a volunteer capacity over the years. Anna was a member of The Women’s Civic Club Evening Section, Chapter AB of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Anna had also maintained her membership in the Pleasant Plains of Damascus Chapter, DAR.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Deborah Atkinson and husband Brian of Walkersville, Kimberly Nace-Rosencrans and husband Jason of Leesburg, VA, Pamela Petto and husband Ken of Frederick and Jennifer Taitano and husband John of East Hartford, CT; seven grandchildren Philip and Andrew Atkinson of Walkersville, Angelo and Coen Petto of Frederick, and Emma, Maddison and Mackenzie Taitano of CT, her sister Margaret Beglin and husband Warren of Shelbyville, IN.Survivors also include three nieces Amy Johnson and husband Jason of Roselle, IL, Sara Dunlap and husband Chris of Columbus, IN and Melanie Beglin and fiancé Michael Nall of Chicago, Il.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Sunday, October 17, from 4 - 7:00 p.m. Memorial services will be held Monday, October 18, at 10:00 a.m. from the Trinity United Methodist Church, 703 West Patrick Street, Frederick.
