Anna Heflin

Anna Jane Heflin gracefully left this world in her home on April 3, 2012 surrounded by her loving family after a long courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on May 10, 1954 in Annapolis, MD one of four children to Kenneth L. Renner Sr. and Anna M. Renner.  Anna graduated from Thomas Johnson High School in 1972 and later resided in Woodsboro, MD.

Anna is survived by her beloved husband of 37 years, John “Jack”  D. Heflin and their three daughters and spouses, Shanna and Michael Figgins, Jr. of Keymar, Jill and Jeffery Waltz of Walkersville, and Jacqueline and Adam Cramer of New Market. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Jocelyn and Morgan Figgins, Tyler, Kaylin, and Hanna Waltz, and Jonathan and Kylee Cramer.  Anna a.k.a ‘Mucca’ was deeply motivated by the young spirits of her grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Kenneth L. Renner Jr. and a sister Patricia L. Cody as well as many other relatives.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald E. Renner Sr.

She worked 18 years for Kershner and Trepper Associates, retiring in 1997 to nurture her family and grandchildren. Anna was a very giving and kindhearted soul always putting others before herself.  In her spare time, Anna enjoyed organizing poolside picnics catering to everyone’s favorite foods. She also enjoyed crafts, reading and shopping. She traveled to many places including England, Scotland and Hawaii with a special love for the beach. The sun and water at the beach always comforted Anna bringing her joy and peace.  She will be missed by many.
