Anna Virginia (Norris) Guyer, 95, formerly of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life to the next on Friday, September 27, 2013 at Winter Park Memorial Hospital in Winter Park, Florida.
Born on November 20, 1917, in Sandy Hook, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Lucy (Penner) Norris.
Anna was a graduate of the Brunswick High School where she enjoyed playing softball, basketball and other sports.
She had been employed with Fairchild Industries and L'Aiglon in Hagerstown and finally retired from Londontown Manufacturing Company in Boonsboro..
Anna was a member of Mt. Vernon Reformed Church (known as the United Church of Christ) in Keedysville.
She is survived by her daughter, Geraldine "Gerry" Nissenbaum of Winter Park, Florida; one granddaughter, Robin Penner Sperry, of Auburndale, Florida; three sisters, Theda Elizabeth Deener of Brunswick, Mary Ruth McGolerick of Weaverton, Maryland, and Betty Jane Hepperle of Hagerstown; and one brother, Fred Gordon Norris, of Hagerstown. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Bradley William Norris, Ray Thomas Norris, Quentin Earl Norris, and Everett Earl Bradley Norris, Jr; and two sisters, Lovella May Baer, and Genevieve Pauline Ingram.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. Rev. R. Thomas Fralin, Jr. will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at Brownsville Heights Cemetery in Brownsville, Maryland.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at the funeral home.
