Ann Pyne

Ann R. Pyne, age 89, of Buckeystown, Maryland, passed from this life on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Buckingham's Choice in Adamstown. She was the wife of The Rev. Frederick W. Pyne who died on March 17, 2016. They were married 64 years.

Born June 8, 1929, in Grand Rapids, MI, she was the adopted daughter of Jack Albert and Irlby Jo Rammes. Mrs. Pyne graduated from Oberlin College, Oberlin, Ohio and received a Master's Degree from Western Maryland College, Westminster, Maryland. Married in Michigan, The Rev. and Mrs. Pyne moved to Maryland in 1954 and lived in the village of Linwood in Carroll County until 1986 when the moved to Frederick. In 1999, The Rev. and Mrs. Pyne moved to Buckingham's Choice, a continuing care retirement community south of Buckeystown, Maryland.

Mrs. Pyne had been a teacher and social worker. She was active with the Literacy Council and the American Association of University Women. She had been Director of Recreation for several years when first moving to Buckingham's Choice where she continued to be active, singing in the Buckingham's Choice choir, working as the Archival Visual Historian, and volunteering in the health center.

Surviving are her four children, Stephen V. R. Pyne and his wife, Dawn, of Westminster, Anne W. Pyne of Taneytown, Elizabeth Pyne Longo and husband, Joseph, of Frederick, and Mary Pyne Kueberth and her husband, Timothy, of Walkersville; three grandchildren, David, Sarah and Katherine; and four great-grandchildren, Joshua, Sophia, Maximus and Brooks.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick with Monsignor Richard Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends Friday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Memorial gifts, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Buckingham's Choice Resident's Assistance Fund.
