Infant Angelia Elizabeth Vickers, 5-month-old daughter of James and Elizabeth Vickers of Middletown, became an angel on Sunday, May 19, 2013 following her illness since birth.
She was born on December 28, 2012 at Children's National Medical Center with multiple congenital heart defects. She underwent six major surgeries during her short time. Angelia was truly loved and will be greatly missed. She was a fighter.
Her parents and family wish to extend their sincerest thanks to the nurses and doctors at Children's National Medical Center for the loving and compassionate care given to their little angel.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by four older brothers, Andrew Brooke Lawson, Julian Alexander Vickers, Gregory Paul Vickers and Bryce Robert Vickers; grandparents, Ann Jennings Miller, Gregory Phillip and Gillian Pope Vickers, and Paul Hansen Reistrup, Jr.; great-grandparents, Elizabeth Jennings, Dr. David and Jean Pope, and Paul and Mary Reistrup; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She will join her brother, Eric Robert Lawson, who became an angel on July 25, 2010 at the age of 6; and her grandfather, Robert John Miller.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2013 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 25 from the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Anjel Scarborough.
Interment will follow in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Myersville.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Angelia's name and mailed to P.O. Box 894, Middletown, MD 21769. These funds will be donated to the Children's National Medical Center, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) where Angelia spent her entire life.
