Andrew {Andy} Franklin Maught

Andrew Andy Franklin Maught, 26 of Jefferson, MD passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2008.
Born August 3, 1982 in Frederick, Maryland he was the son of Charles and Daphne Maught of Jefferson.
Andy was a 2000 graduate of Brunswick High School and a 2005 graduate of West Virginia State College. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and he was an avid Oriole and Steeler fan.
Andy's life was baseball. He had a great love and passion for the sport. He was on the last 12 year old team from Brunswick to win the Little League State Title in 1995. He played for Brunswick High School where they won many Regional and District Championships His senior year in high school Andy was picked for an all-star team where he played at Camden Yards.. He was awarded the Merriman Scholarship to play ball at West Virginia State. While playing at West Virginia State he was named 1st Team All State. He then played for the Brunswick Orioles where they won the 2004 World Series and he was named the MVP.
In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by a brother, Matthew Maught and a sister, Danielle Maught both of Jefferson, a paternal grandmother, Thelma Maught of Jefferson, a maternal grandmother, Regina Carey of Knoxville, three uncles, Allen Carey, Randy Carey and Vince Carey.
He will also be remembered and missed by all of his friends and his baseball family.
He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Andrew Jack Maught and Ralph Carey.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Ave., Brunswick, Monday, December 8, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
Services:
Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 9 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Katrina L. Holland officiating.
Interment will be in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery, Jefferson.
