Mr. Andrew Jackson “Jack” Way, 83 passed away on Saturday, February 20th at his home. He was the husband of Doris Jane Way, his wife of 44 years.
Born January 21, 1933 in Hedgesville, WV he was the son of the late Davis Siebert Way, Sr. and the late Mabel Pearl Gray Way.
Jack served in the United States Navy from 1950-1956. He retired from Greyhound Lines as a bus driver in 1988 after 24 years. He then when on to work as a bus driver and a field trip driver for Frederick County Board of Education and retired in 2001.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge #371 and the FSK American Legion #11. Jack enjoyed watching John Wayne and western TV shows. In his younger years he loved motorcycles and antique cars. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his loving wife Jane he is survived by his children, Diana V. Greenfield and husband Doug and Jewel L. Gatrell and husband Ray, stepdaughter, Debra L. Dreisonstok and husband John, grandchildren, Jeannette Greenfield, Kathy Kilroy and husband Sean, Michael Greenfield, Carissa Gatrell, Amanda Gatrell and Jason Frazier, step grandchildren, Dustin Dreisonstok and wife Sandi, Daniel Dreisonstok and wife Jess and Joseph Dreisonstok, great grandchildren, Colleen Miller and Jayden Dellinger, step great grandchildren, Kaylee Harrison, McKenzie Dreisonstok, Camden Dreisonstok, Hannah Dreisonstok, Colton Dreisonstok and Jaiden Blank and numerous nieces and nephews.
He will also be remembered by Doug and Wander Frasier and their sons, Skylar, Joshua and wife Amanda and Caleb and wife Lauren all of Kansas and his favorite girls from the bus driver click, Linda, Theresa, Greta and Renee.
He is preceded in death by a brother, Davis S. Way, Jr.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike. Frederick on Thursday, February 25th from 2-4 and 6-8PM. Funeral services will be at the funeral home Friday, February 26th at 11:00AM with Pastor Linda Lambert officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Prospect Cemetery.
