Amy Katherine Plunkert

Amy Katherine Plunkert, 92 of Thurmont, Maryland passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at her home, where she lived for 53 years. . She was the wife of the late Henry W. Plunkert, Sr.

Born January 4, 1917 in Skookstown, MD she was the daughter of the late William and Lora Blank.

Amy was a member of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Utica.

She was a member of the Utica Lutheran League. She enjoyed quilting, canning, baking, going to yard sales and having yard sales.

She ran the farm with her husband for 20 years in the Lewistown area and was previously employed with Montevue Nursing Home and W&W Poultry.

She is survived by her five children, Evelyn L. Pearl and husband George Calvin, Jr of Mt. Pleasant, Mary K. Glass and husband Billy L. of Emmitsburg, MD, Anna M. Holsinger and husband Dannie of Carroll Valley, PA, Henry W. Plunkert, Jr. of Proctor, WV and Ellen D. Dixon and husband Brad of Adamstown, MD, six grandchildren, Wanda Rudman, George Pearl, Jr, Pamela McClellan, Steven Glass, Ben Plunkert and Christine Dixon, 10 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren and three sisters, Grace Fox, Annabelle Powell and Eileen Bowers.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Wednesday, February 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.

Services: Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 10:00 AM with the Rev. William M. Bucher and Rev. Arthur Pete Baugher officiating.

Interment will be in Utica Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brad Dixon, George Pearl, Jr., Dr. Fred Rudman, Samuel Rudman, Steven Glass and Matthew Glass.
