Amy Shinham

November 30, 1965 — October 13, 2019

Amy Bethany Shinham, 53, of Sharpsburg, MD, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 13, 2019 peacefully at her home.

Born on November 30, 1965 in Elkton, MD, she was the daughter of Samuel C. and Lois J. (Kline) Shoemaker of Boonsboro, MD.

Amy was a graduate of Boonsboro High School, class of 1983. She was employed by Washington County Public Schools as a substitute teacher and more recently a full time paraprofessional at Boonsboro High School. She was a true warrior at heart. Amy was also an avid Dallas Cowboys Fan.

Amy was a devout Christian and spread her love and joy to all her family and friends. She never missed a birthday! She was famous for her cakes and cookies and took every opportunity to be with her friends and family. She truly was a one of a kind mother, grandmother and friend. Her favorite time was spent with her beloved grandson, he was Mimi’s pride and joy.

In addition to her parents, Amy is survived by her husband, John “Patrick” Shinham; daughter, Kaitlin R. Shinham and Bobby Ayers; grandson, Robert Gracen Ayers; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel P. Shinham in August of 2008.

The family will receive friends from 5-7pm, on Friday, October 18, 2019 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, MD 21783.

A Celebration of Life will be held for friends and family on Saturday, October 26th, 2019 at 3pm at the Williamsport Redmen Lodge, 16129 Lappans Road, Williamsport, MD 21795.
