Mrs. Amelia “Lou” Mills, 64, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at her home. She was the wife of Guy Mills, Jr., her husband of 38 years.
Born January 18, 1948 in Frederick, Maryland she was the daughter of Shirley Caddell Sheldon of Melbourne, FL and the late Elbert Sanders Cheeks.
Mrs. Mills was a 1966 graduate of Frederick High School. She was a past member of the Redmen’s Club and the Jeffersonian Patriotic Club. Lou was an excellent cook and had been employed at various establishments throughout the Frederick Area.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her daughter Amanda Mayo and husband Bo of Lucasville, Ohio , step-children Robert Mills, John Mills and Judy Mills of Trenton, NJ, ten grandchildren, her brothers Danny Cheeks and wife Cheryl and Terry Sheldon and wife Sue all of Florida, and her mother-in-law Helen Mills, brother-in-law Larry Mills and sister-in-law Shirley McThenia and husband Roger. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by a sister Carol Devilbiss, a brother Sanders Cheeks and her paternal grandparents Dan and Dollie Cheeks.
The family will receive friends at a memorial visitation at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Sunday, September 2, from 1 – 3:00 pm
Interment will be private
