Alverta Carty

Mrs. Alverta F. Carty, 87, of Frederick, MD., peacefully went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus, surrounded by her loving family, Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at her daughter’s home.

Born April 20, 1924 in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late George F. and Marie Fogle Wilders.

Mrs. Carty was a member of the Edgewood First Church of God. Alverta ended her working at Edenton Assisted Living after 10+ years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her family, leaving many memories for them, and also enjoyed gardening (vegetable and flowers).

She is survived by her children Dorothy Stull of Frederick, Gary Devilbiss, Marjorie Ogle both of Thurmont and Beverly Kline and husband Clark, Jr of Ocean City, MD, eight grandchildren D. Jean-Marie Creighton of Ijamsville, Tammy L. Keller, Bryan C. Devilbiss, R. Blaine Ogle all of PA, Chad C. Ogle of Williamsport, Troy C. Twentey of PA,  Shannon A. Floyd of WV and Kelli L Bosic of Ocean City, great grandchildren Mackenzie Creighton, Colten Devilbiss, Sarah Devilbiss, Caitlin Keller, Alexis Ogle, Jacob Ogle, Savannah Ogle, Ava Eden Ogle, Wesley VanFleet, Tyler Browne, Joshua Floyd, and Jacob Lowery, and her brother Franklin Wilders and wife Drucilla of Thurmont. Many nieces and nephews also survive. She will be remembered by her loving cat “Buddy Boy”. She was preceded in death by her sisters Dorothy Duncan, Carrie Wallace, her brother Donald Wilders and sons-in-laws Gene Robert Stull and Terry L. Ogle.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Friday November 11, from 2 – 4 and 7 -9 pm, where services will be held Saturday, November 12, at 11:00 am with Pastor Jeff Shaw officiating.
