Alton Bare, Sr.

Mr. Alton L. "Dink" Bare, Sr., 76, of Thurmont, Maryland, died Sunday, September 15, 2013, at his home after a 17 year illness of prostate cancer. He was the husband of Doris Jean Harne Bare, his wife of 52 years.
Born October 4, 1936, he was the son of the late Alton M. and F. Louise Hamrick Bare.
He loved to hunt in Garrett Co./Deep Creek Lake and called Garrett Co. his second home. Al also spent many deer seasons in Rangley Lake, Maine. Mr. Bare's career started at N.I.H., Poolsville, MD to Frederick, MD. He later was a bail bondsman for Al Bare Bail Bonds and Tregoning Bail Bonds retiring in 2007. Al was respected by his clients, correctional officers,law enforcement, clerks, lawyers,District Court Commissioners, and judges for his professional and personable attitude. Al Bare always made a friend in the bail bond business with his kindness. Years after retirement, his family was informed he bailed folks out of jail with not taking their money, but giving clients money to feed their children. In 1995, Al was president of Lewistown Vol. Fire Dept, coached Thurmont Little League in the 1970's, NRA, and life member of Central Sportsman Club of Frederick County. Mr. Bare served his Country in the U.S. Army at Ft. Lewis, Washington.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Ms Tanya I. Bare and partner Donna L. Morris of Smithsburg, MD, Estella L. Motley and husband Ricky J. of Thurmont, MD., Larry L. Bare and wife Bernice of Frederick, MD, and Alton L. Bare, Jr. and wife Tracey M. of Cascade. MD., grandchildren Madison R. Bare, Rev. Joshua J. Motley and wife Hillary, Jacoba J. Cassidy and husband Chris, Katie A. Bare, Felicia A. Bare and partner Paul J. Ford, Allison L.Bare, Skylar M. Bare, Josie N. Bare, Cory J.W. Bare, Rachel R. Workman and husband Josh, great grandchildren Madisyn T. Knoedler, Quentin J. Cassidy, Joclyn W. Cassidy, Hunter B. Ford, Bryson T. Workman and two future great grandsons, A sister Yvonne B. Willis, and brothers Richard "Yogi" E. Bare and Robert M. Bare and wife Cathy all of Thurmont., brother-in-law Billy L. Harne and wife Shirley of Ellicott City, MD, sister-in-laws Helen W. Harne,, Janice V. Willis and husband David of Thurmont and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a brother Melvin L. Bare and in-laws Lawrence G and Irene V. Harne, brother-in-laws Robert L. Harne, Sr, and Jim Willis, sister-in-law Leota I. Knootz.
The family will receive friends at the MorningStar Family Church, 14698 Albert Staub Road, Thurmont on Wednesday, September 18, and Thursday, September 19, from 2-4 and 7-9:00 pm, where services will be held Friday, September 20, at 1:00 pm with Rev. Donna Sandridge and Rev. Joshua J. Motley officiating.
Interment Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Danny R. Bare, Branden J. Bare, Robert L. Harne, Jr, Dennis D. Harne, Gary L. Gray, Jr., Scott Bare, Neil C. Hagelin, Eric H. Hagelin, and Keith D. Knootz.
