Althea "Penny" Gulliford

Mrs. Althea (Penny) Gulliford, 53, of Frederick, Maryland entered eternal rest, Tuesday,  December 13, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, MD.  She was the wife of William (Billy) L. Gulliford.  They were married for 31 years.

Born on March 19, 1958 in Frederick, MD, she was the daughter of  Leroy and Elsie Simms.
She was employed at Citizens Nursing Home for 31 years and recently retired.  She also worked other care-giving jobs..

Surviving in addition to her husband, is her only child Tyra Simms, two grandsons, Anthony and Kobe, three brothers, Charles and Janice Simms, Corey and Renee Simms, and Bernie and Alda Simms,  two aunts, Pam and Artiene and Sonny Berry, Joe and Pat Morrison, John Palmer. Lots of nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be fondly remembered by her best friend and cousin Brenda Pearson and her nephew Charles "CJ" Sims. Mrs. Gulliford was preceded in death by one brother, Tyronne Morrison.

Visitation will be held on Monday December 19, from 10:00am until time of funeral services at 11:00am. at the Jackson  United Methodist Church, 5609 Ballenger Creek Pike, Frederick, Pastor Rex Bowens will officiate. Interment will be private.
