Mrs. Althea F. (Given) Campen, 96, of Frederick, died Friday, April 30, 2010, at the College View Nursing Center, Frederick. She was the wife of the late Simeon M. Campen.
Born on Feb. 4, 1914, in Charleston, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late A. Burton Given and Amanda C. Given.
Mrs. Campen devoted her life to her family and her home. She was a member of Forcey Memorial Church, Silver Spring. She was an Avon representative, enjoyed playing the piano and crocheting.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth W. Campen and wife, Dianne, of Oregon, Steven D. Campen and wife, Emily, of Frederick; six grandchildren, Daniel Campen, Timothy Campen, Heidi Elmore, Samantha Campen, Luke Campen and Jesse Campen; one great-grandchild Verite Elmore; and a sister, Julia.
She was preceded in death by a brother Roland Given, and three sisters, Rita, Eula and Elsie.

Services: The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, May 5, at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Oposumtown Pike, Frederick. Services will begin at noon. The Rev. Gerald G. Small will officiate. Interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. Family and friends are invited to assemble at the FSK Chapel at 3:15 p.m.
